You Have the gift of...

Shapeshifting

Just like the mysterious Loki and Ms. Marvel, you're adaptable and can  change based on what the situation in front of you.

You know how to read a room and take on the energy required in any given moment. You also know how to take on other people's personas and points of view.

This ability to shapeshift has served you well as an actor.

Here's what I know: To get even further in your acting career, you now get to find and focus on your unique voice.

 Your Actor Biz Assets

Because of your ability to fly, there are some things you're pretty freakin' great at.

Sometimes you negate these things because you just see them as who you are and what you do.

It's time to own your strengths!

Please know, that not everyone has these qualities. They don't.  But you do.

They are an asset. Own them.

Adaptable and take direction well

You can handle yourself in any situation. From a high stake set to a Zoom reading. You are a pro at taking direction well and everyone loves working with you.

Good listener

One thing about you is you really are a good listener.  You listen to your scene partner, directors, friends on a deeper level than most which is a gift.

Empath

You deeply walk in the shoes of others. This makes you a good actor and a friend. You make people feel seen and heard.

Areas of Your Biz That Need Attention 💪🏻

#1

You're a people pleaser or a recovering one.

People pleasing means you're not allowing folks to really see YOU. Empathy is one thing but losing yourself to serve others better is doing you a disservice. It's time to put your goals, desires and self-care first. And you might need a reminder on what it is that you really want in your career

#2

Afraid to get specific about your brand.

Your branding is not specific enough OR it's time for a rebrand.  Shapeshifting is a strength, but it makes hard for folks to know how to cast you. Versatile is not brand.  You may have an idea of who you are, but it's time to get even more specific about who you are and what you sell to break down those doors faster.

#3

Market yourself feels scary.

If marketing yourself scares you how the heck are you going to do it.
If you find that marketing stops you in your tracks, then you need a strategy  to approach casting director, agents an industry folks that feels authentic to you. And have brand-centric marketing tools to back it up.

Learn five tangible steps to take control of your career and level up so you can do more of what you love - act.

Hey! I'm Jodie Bentley.

I'm a NYU Tisch trained actor, producer, and audiobook narrator who has worked for Netflix, Hulu, ABC, CBS and many more.

Since 2008, I’ve been a career coach for actors and in 2022 was named one of the Top 20 Coaches in Los Angeles by Influence Digest.
I'm also the former CEO of The Savvy Actor and Accelerated Artist.

I help actors take back their power and build the career they desire.

I've taught workshops at SAG-AFTRA, Actors Equity, Comicon, and over 50+ universities and training programs. I've been an adjunct professor and built the Business of Acting Programs at New York Film Academy, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Pace University, and Studio School.

I know how frustrating it is to be an actor. Not to mention, actors are not trained in what it takes to run a business, efficiently and effectively. Typically, it’s the last thing you want to focus on! Then you wonder why you falter, plateau or never hit your goals.

Competitive, impactful, business skills are the main thing you are missing in our oversaturated industry. And you need a roadmap.

So...you can continue to spin your wheels hoping to be noticed, relying only on your craft or charm, and keep daydreaming on the career you want, OR you can be a proactive savvy actor who understands business principles and how to leverage them to fast track your career.
