Your Branding CAN unlock the doors you want to get Your Branding CAN unlock the doors you want to get into…

Branding has become a buzzword. Let’s be real. 😵‍💫 You’ve been hearing about branding for what seems like forever now. And everyone and their mom has an opinion about it.

Your agent needs to know how to sell you. That’s how 99.99% of my clients who launch their agent or manager campaigns get agents and managers. ✨️

But some casting directors tell you not to brand yourself and just show up and do good work. 😬 Well that’s all fine and good, but how the heck are you getting in the rooms to show up and do the good work without branding!

How are they even selecting you for an audition if your materials don’t scream of who you are and what you do!

Branding opens doors. 🚪 Branding is ABSOLUTELY expansive. 🏞️ Branding creates opportunities and makes you memorable. 🤯

Want to see just how much your acting career can change from redefining your branding? 🔥 Comment AUDIT for my free 12-Step Branding Checklist and dive into the next chapter of your career.

If you’re feeling abandoned, you’re not alone. If you’re feeling abandoned, you’re not alone. ⬇️
If you feel like everything is at a standstill you’re most certainly not the only one.😪
Things are very different than they were this time last year, and there are a lot of voices adding to the chaos of concern.

Just know this:

✨️Pilot season has been slowly decreasing over the past five years
✨️Distributors are being more selective with the shows they pick up

BUT

🔥Indie projects are on the rise, and they work on different schedules than standard projects
🔥More actors are creating their own shows, films, and production companies
🔥We’re seeing an expansion of the working class of actors - not an erasure.
🔥Newness is frightening because newness is slow growing. It takes time.

So, where do YOU fit into all this?

You get to connect with your Why, your authentic Truth, the Stories You were made to tell. And these stories exist
You just get to find them, and when you do…

👏🏻These producers, writers, directors, they need to see YOU and what you bring and what you tell so clearly that it’s not even a question of who’s right for their projects.

And if you feel alone in creating a clear, marketable picture of YOU…
I’ve got your back.
There are some aspects that you can control and I’m going to show you how to. Follow for more!

#relatable I've been intentionally changing my re #relatable
I've been intentionally changing my relationship with the word ‘expectation’ this year.

I go to the point in my audition life, where I let go of expectation altogether.

Meaning, when an audition was done I completely let it go. Like completely. It started to feel like I wasn’t living in the possibility of getting a callback or being booking.

Recently, I had an audition and swinging the pendulum in the opposite direction, I decided to put the callback date in my calendar. Ok, maybe I went a bit too far. But I REALLY felt like this role was meant for me!

What was interesting to feel in the aftermath of my non-callback (spoiler alert - I did not get a callback) was the aftermath of having that expectation.

The aftermath was pure and utter disappointment.

I think we protect ourselves from disappointment in MANY ways. I think I was protecting myself from letting go of each audition completely.

Guess what? It’s ok to be disappointed.

The goal of life is not to be happy 100% of the time. That’s impossible!

You will have an audition and hear crickets. You will get a callback, feel like the job is yours and then not book it. You will not get in the room for a project you’ve always wanted to do.

What I learned is that I can have an expectation AND feel disappointment - THEN I can let it go.

There are SO many more opportunities coming my way this year that I will book. This audition just wasn’t one of them. So what?

I’m liking this new way of thinking and wanted to share it with you. 💞

You can feel disappointment, still move forward and still expect great things in your career and life.

✨️Here are 5 steps to reprogram that voice and ✨️Here are 5 steps to reprogram that voice and stop the self-beat up:

📌1. Recognize your inner critic
That voice is NOT YOU. The words and patterns you use are typically modeled after what you learned as a kid. Is it the voice of your mom? Your step dad? Your kindergarten teacher who failed you on a coloring assignment because you colored outside the lines when you thought you were clever drawing the glow of the candlelight. I digress. Notice the voice as something separate from you. NOT you.

📌2. Name your inner critic
I invite you to give that inner voice a name. Tell “Betty” to stop being mean because you’ve got an email to write. Seriously, name the voice, thank them for sharing, laugh at them if you need to and move on. Creating that separation is vital to not spiral down into the negative feelings.

📌3. Remember feelings are fleeting
If the spiraling down into shame, fear or guilt does happen, guess what? Feelings come and go. They’re fluid. Remind yourself that the dread or anger or whatever it is you’re feeling is temporary.

📌4. Challenge your critic with opposing evidence
When we give the negative voice space and attention, we find a zillion reasons as to why it is right. You get to challenge “Betty” with evidence that proves her wrong. When she says, “I’m so stupid I never do anything right”, you get to remind Betty that yesterday you got a raise at work and cooked the best chicken piccata ever. Stop her bullsh*t in its tracks.

📌5. Be your own best friend
If your best friend talked to you like your inner critic, how would you feel? You’d probably kick them to the curb, right? You don’t want negative people in your head either. Choose to be kinder yourself.

To get rid of “Betty” once and for all, keep a journal for the next couple of weeks and jot down whatever your inner voice says. Follow the steps above and you’ll notice shifts in your mental talk that will provide you with ease and joy.

P.S. I apologize if your name is Betty. 💞
